Suzie has overcome some challenges in her life. After coming back into Nova Pooch Rescue’s care it was discovered that Suzie was suffering from a condition referred to as Steroid Responsive Inflammatory Meningoencephalitis, which was the cause of her suffering severe neck pain and stiffness. Since receiving this diagnosis, Suzie has been placed on medication that has kept her relatively pain free and leading a normal, happy life. She will, however, require medication 3-4 times a week for the rest of her life.
Whilst Suzie has been dealt a less than fortunate hand…or should that be paw??!! she is still a very sweet, loyal and loving lady who enjoys the company of her human companions. Whether it is watching television or pottering around with them as they go about their daily chores, Suzie will be by her human’s side. She walks well on her lead and is at present undergoing toilet training.
Suzie is happy to have another small dog companion but would also thrive on being an only dog where she can be the centre of attention. She enjoys going out for drives and short walks, and REALLY loves her food, so it’s essential that she has a fairly strict, balanced diet in order to maintain a healthy weight.
Ideally Suzie would be suited to a family where she will have plenty of human companionship, perhaps a family that works part time, retired or semi- retired would be best suited to this little lady. Due to her condition, Suzie will require a family that is patient, empathetic and understanding of her needs, as well as being willing to ensure that she receives her medication as prescribed.
Overall Suzie is a happy little dog. She will initially bark at unfamiliar people and noises in and around her home but will make friends with people very quickly, as she just adores attention from anyone and everyone.
Suzie has an easy care medium length coat that will require brushing every few days to keep it looking tidy and tangle free.
